The Outreach Ministry seeks to meet the needs of the Protestant Community Church (PCC) and wider community with timely communications and support for its own initiatives as well as those of other committee ministries. The Outreach Ministry oversees several areas and committees as determined by the Board of Trustees, including publicity, public relations, volunteer recognition and encouragement, PCC website, inquirers classes, baptism stewards, Connect 10, and Peace Initiative. It also coordinates with outside groups and/or organizations for community outreach. This leadership, encouragement, coordination, and communication are provided by the Outreach Ministry in accordance with church by-laws, policies, and procedures. It is informed and inspired by our Christian faith.
- Oversees or chairs the Outreach Committee
- Writes advertisements, articles, brochures, and flyers and coordinates for publication. Arranges for signs and banners for various events and programs
- Coordinates with staff for PCC website and Facebook postings as well as other social media http://www.protestantcommunitychurch.org/
- Supports, volunteers, photographs, and advertises PCC events for social media publicity
- As needed, assists the Board in researching and writing governance policy, for example, the Gift Acceptance Policy and Guidelines
- Responsible for volunteer recognition and encouragement
- Writes congratulations notes or cards for high school and college graduates, confirmands, and Rite 13 students
- Responsible for inquirers classes and baptism stewards
- Oversees and supports the Peace Initiative subcommittee
